Chil gyulyabi is a grape variety of mass selection of a universal table-and-wine type. The variety name translated means "freckled Gyulyabi," which is due to the morphological features of the fruit appearance: small dark spots are present on the skin, appearing as round openings in the thick layer of waxy bloom. The Chil gyulyabi grape variety belongs to the group of late ripening period. The vigor of the bushes is characterized as above medium. The yield is stably high, which is associated with the formation of large bunches. The table-purpose production is used mainly locally, as the fruits do not possess high durability during transport. The berry flavor is ordinary, pleasant, with a specific light astringency. The Chil gyulyabi variety is distributed in the vineyards of Southern Dagestan in a mixture with other local variations, and also deserves production testing in the southern regions of Dagestan and the Rostov region.

The leaf blade is five-lobed, deeply cleft, almost flat or wide-funnel-shaped in form. The upper side is dull, with a weak net-like wrinkled surface, the lower side is completely glabrous. The main veins have a distinct reddish coloration. The upper sinuses are deep, closed, with elliptic or wide-oval openings. The lower sinuses are characterized by medium depth or are deep, open lyre-shaped, less frequently closed with elliptic openings. The petiolar sinus is closed with an elliptic opening, in rare cases open narrow-lyre-shaped. The teeth at the ends of the lobes are wide-triangular, predominantly with rounded apexes. The marginal teeth are dome-shaped, giving the outlines of the leaf blade a softness. In texture, the leaves are fragile and fragile, as a result of which they are prone to damage and tearing during strong winds.

The Chil gyulyabi variety demonstrates stable yield indicators, which are determined by the parameters of the density and weight of the bunches. A physiological feature of the vegetative mass is the fragility of the leaf blades, easily torn by strong winds, which must be taken into account when choosing sites for establishing plantations. The technological winemaking properties in pure form remained unclarified for a long time, since the harvested crop was traditionally processed in a total mass with other grape varieties. According to the results of experimental trials conducted in the non-irrigated vineyards of the Lower Don region, the Chil gyulyabi grape variety is suitable for the production of light table white wines possessing a harmonious flavor.
