General Characteristics
Seyanets Malengra is a Michurin, early-ripening table grape variety intended for local consumption. The vegetative period is approximately 115–120 days. It ripens in late August to early September. The grape variety Seyanets Malengra is distributed and included in the standard assortment across all regions of northern and mountain viticulture; in the Primorsky Krai, it is found in collection plantings and on home vineyards. The yield is high but determined by pollination conditions. On the Alpha variety rootstock, the yield is high, reaching up to 12 kg per bush. The taste is simple and pleasant. The pulp is juicy and melting, while the skin is thin and tender. The disadvantages of the variety include its female flower type, as well as severe berry cracking and rotting. The grape variety Seyanets Malengra is promising for the conditions of the Khabarovsk Krai and the Amur Oblast.
Morphological Description
Morphological characteristics of the variety Seyanets Malengra:
- Leaf: medium in size, five-lobed. The leaf surface is wavy, bullate, with triangular sinuses. The superior sinuses are deep and closed.
- Petiolar sinus: open, lyre-shaped or brace-shaped, with an acute base.
- Pubescence: the lower surface of the leaf has bristly-cobwebby pubescence.
- Flower: functionally female.
- Bunch: medium, conical in shape, medium-dense under normal pollination conditions.
- Berry: medium (18–22 mm in diameter), round, white with a yellowish tint.
Agricultural Features
The bush growth is moderate, and the shoot maturity is good. The grape variety Seyanets Malengra is more frost-resistant than other European varieties. To obtain full-sized bunches and a high yield, it requires artificial pollination and mixed planting with hermaphroditic varieties. The best pollinators are the varieties: Cherny Sladky and Zhemchug Saba. The variety Seyanets Malengra is severely affected by downy mildew (mildew). Disadvantages include severe cracking and rotting of the berries.
